Dear Friends,
Are you doing OK? How good it is that we can pray for each other! Much of our daily routine is significantly changed. In our adapting and adjusting it shows versatility in handling the “curve balls” of life. Someone said: “When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade!” Or something like that! The point is this – circumstances are not in control of God’s people; He is in control! This has been (and is) such a challenging time for the entire world. In the good times and the not-so-good times our confidence is in the Lord. Job (23:10) said, “But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.” Do you find the Scripture comforting? They are very comforting indeed! Words of life!

It is good to see the spring weather breaking as we anticipate great days ahead. As time progresses we get closer to the time when we can meet again and worship as a congregation. We still have a little more of this journey but, thankfully, we remain confident that the Lord will bring us through. Be encouraged!

A Few Updates

PRAYER: Let’s continue to pray for one another. The power of prayer is indescribable. There are a number of prayer requests: Hailey, Henley, a lady taking medical treatments, others recovering from surgery, Evangel’s online church, worship/production teams, youth, children, different levels of government, business people, first responders and medical personnel, those sick with the virus or otherwise, family members, those in nursing homes or shut-ins, global workers. This is quite a list, isn’t it? Would you please take 3 or 4 at one time and pray for these as we go through this week?

BIBLE READING: For the month of April we are reading together Psalm 27, Psalm 91 and the Gospel of Matthew. We are praying that God’s word will comfort you.

ADMINISTRATION: Thank you for your consistency and faithfulness in financially supporting Evangel’s ministries these days. As we mentioned last week, we are slightly down (-6%) in the average giving. Another report will come your way in a week or so. It is good to track the practical side of ministry and keep current with the present reality and trend.

The office hours have been adjusted. I drop in occasionally, specifically to record online church plus a few other items needing attention. The back door is open for your convenience from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
