Dear Friends,

Greetings to you in the wonderful name of Jesus!
It is good that we are experiencing some lovely summer days even though summer has not
officially arrived. We pray that you are doing well and sensing God’s peace and presence every
day. Our Scripture reading for the month of June is the entire Book of Psalms. By now you
moving along nicely and enjoying the comfort of the word of God. One verse that you have
already read is: “In you, Lord my God, I put my trust. I trust in you; do not let me be put to
shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me. No one who hopes in you will ever be put to
shame…” (Psalm 25: 1 – 3)
Take courage in the word of God! It is the foundation upon which we are built! God’s word will
never pass away!
ONLINE CHURCH – Your prayers for this ministry is appreciated more than words can say. We
have no idea who may be tuning in but we are assured that the word of God will penetrate the
hearts of people through song and the Scriptures. Each YouTube presentation is available from
7:00 a.m. each Sunday.
RE-OPENING CHURCH – Word was received on Monday, June 8 that churches are permitted to
be opened by Friday, June 12, 2020 @ 30% capacity. The church board will be meeting to
determine the necessary safety steps in moving forward with this good news! We will keep you
posted as to a specific start-up date. It will be so good to see you again! Thank you for your
patience and prayers.
PRAYER NEEDS – There are always current prayer needs that come our way. in addition to
those for whom we have been praying recently. Please remember Wilma (recovering from
surgery), a young man facing surgery, Rose (surgery soon), Tim, Lori (taking treatments), Laura,
Olivia, Phyllis (bereavement), our seniors who are shut-in, Pat, Franz (recovering from surgery),

gladly include them. Be sure to send an email or telephone us should you have a need. You
may reach us at office@evangelnapanee.com or 613-354-4281. There are lots of prayer needs
and they all include spiritual and physical needs.!
PASTORAL SEARCH – We are continuing our journey. It is anticipated that the process will move
a little quicker now since some of the restrictions have been eased.
ZOOM PRAYER MEETING – Each Monday at 6:30 p.m. we host a ZOOM prayer meeting. Please
plan to join us. If you need assistance to install ZOOM on your computer, give us a call and we
will do our best to walk you through the steps. This is a significant time and an opportunity to
connect with others for a few minutes. I will send you the link plenty of time beforehand.
Please take note that sometimes ZOOM will ask for a password. If so, please enter the
password that is on the invitation (email) you receive. Again, you simply need to click on the
link and you will be taken to the meeting. Hope to see you there!
BIBLE READING – The Bible reading assignment suggestion for the month of June is Psalms. The
challenge is to read at least 5 Psalms per day. That will include all 150 Psalms for the 30 days of
June! Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the Bible so you may want to pace your reading
somewhat…whatever works for you. The word of God will bring you spiritual encouragement
and strength.
DRIVE-BY WEDDING SHOWER – Kim and Scott Carpenter would like you to know about a
”Drive-by Wedding Shower” for their son, Jon and his fiancé, Rebekah Fox, on Sunday, June
14th, 4:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. @ 235 Church Street Napanee. Here’s a note from Kim:
“Come on by, wish the happy couple well. They have their home set up, but if you'd like to help
them out with a monetary gift to help them with their honeymoon, a gift card to help out with
their home, or if you have a special gift in mind that you'd like to buy, you are welcome to do
that, too. They'll appreciate and love anything, even a card wishing them well on their way.
Thanks everyone. This is not how we'd like to celebrate, but it's our only choice right now. If you
can't come on this date and would like to drop off something before or after, that's fine, too
Thanks so much in advance ”
ADMINISTRATION – We are so deeply grateful to you for your continued prayers and financial
support of Evangel Temple! Again, I commend you for such faithfulness. It is a great testimony
to the good strength of this fine congregation. Our office hours are extended a little and are
now open Monday to Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. We expect to resume regular hours
very soon which, of course, includes each afternoon until 3:00 p.m. We’ll let you know when
this happens. Again, we are so thankful for your understanding.
Please feel free to call us or leave a message and we will be happy to respond to you as soon as
possible.
Many blessings with God’s peace and presence filling your lives always!
Cal and June Anthony
